Orange, Dried Plum, and Almond Compote

1 navel orangeÂ
1/3 cup canned crushed pineapple with juiceÂ
6 dried plums, cut into sliversÂ
1/4 teaspoon almond extractÂ
2 tablespoons slivered almondsÂ

Peel the orange and separate into sections. Cut the sections into small pieces. Transfer to a bowl. Add the pineapple, plums, and extract. Sprinkle the almonds on each serving.
