Pearl King’s Mississippi Mud Bars
2 C. Sugar
1 C. Vegetable Oil
4 Eggs
1 1/2 C. Flour
1/3 C. Cocoa
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 C. Chopped Nuts
Cream sugar, eggs and oil. Sift flour, cocoa and salt. Add dry ingredients to egg mixture; beat well. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake in 13â€x9†pan at 350 degrees 30-35 minutes. While cake is still hot, top with small jar of marshmallow crème. When slightly cooled, spread with mud bar frosting.
Mud Bar Frosting
1/3 C. Margarine
1/2 C. Cocoa
1/3 C. Evaporated Milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 1/2 C. Powdered Sugar
1/2 C. Chopped Nuts
Melt margarine, stir in cocoa and milk. Cook 1 minute (do not boil). Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Stir until smooth and spread over marshmallow crème on mud bars.
