Kapusniak Polish Sauerkraut Soup
2 pounds smoked pork shanks
1 quart water
1 onion, well browned
1 quart sauerkraut juice
1/4 C. sugar
1/4 C. cream
1 egg
1 T. flour
3/4 C. milk
Cook meat in water until well done. Add onion, sauerkraut juice and sugar. Beat egg; add flour, milk and cream. Add to soup and bring to a boil. Serve with potato
