Saut\u00c3\u00a9 mushrooms in butter. Put aside half of fish and abalone and throw everything else into a large pot. Add half and half and enough 2% milk to cover 3\/4 of the stuff. Add pepper. Simmer until the potatoes are nearly done, stirring often.
