In a medium bowl beat egg with a whisk. Stir in 1\/4 C. of the pasta sauce, the fine dry bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Wrap a slice of prosciutto or ham around each cheese log. Shape one-fourth of the ground beef mixture around each cheese log to form a loaf. Flatten each meat loaf to 1-1\/2 inch thickness.
