{"id":31112,"date":"2010-05-27T21:01:07","date_gmt":"2010-05-28T04:01:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=31112"},"modified":"2022-05-15T21:01:26","modified_gmt":"2022-05-16T04:01:26","slug":"shrimp-in-flavorful-broth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=31112","title":{"rendered":"Shrimp in Flavorful Broth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shrimp in Flavorful Broth<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2 T. dried rosemary<\/p>\n<p>2 tsp. dried thyme<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 tsp. fennel seed<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. black pepper<\/p>\n<p>5 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. celery seed<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes<\/p>\n<p>2 quarts low\u2212sodium chicken broth<\/p>\n<p>8 ounces clam juice<\/p>\n<p>3 ounces tomato paste<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 cup (1 stick) butter<\/p>\n<p>1 cup white wine<\/p>\n<p>1 1\/2 pounds raw peeled shrimp, with tails<\/p>\n<p>French bread (for dipping)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Partially break up the rosemary, thyme, and fennel seed with fingers or mortar and pestle. Place all ingredients, except wine and shrimp, in a large pot. Simmer for about 30 minutes, then add wine. Continue to simmer for a total cooking time of no more than 2 hours. Just before serving, add raw shrimp. Simmer until shrimp is done, stirring, about 2 minutes. Each bowl should contain a serving of shrimp and a lot of broth, which should almost completely cover the shrimp. The dish is eaten with your fingers.
