{"id":2797,"date":"2006-08-15T18:58:18","date_gmt":"2006-08-16T01:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=2797"},"modified":"2006-08-15T18:58:18","modified_gmt":"2006-08-16T01:58:18","slug":"docs-chili-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=2797","title":{"rendered":"Doc\u2019s Chili"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>3 cups chopped yellow onions<br \/>\n1 pound lean ground turkey (or lean turkey sausage)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons chili powder<br \/>\n1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano (or 1 teaspoon dried)<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground cumin<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground mustard<br \/>\n2 tablespoons chopped garlic<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups cooked pinto beans (one 15-ounce can, rinsed and drained )<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups cooked black beans (one 15-ounce can, rinsed and drained )<br \/>\n3 cups diced tomatoes (or one 28-ounce can roasted diced tomatoes, undrained)<br \/>\n1 cup fat free chicken broth<br \/>\n1\/2 cup black olives<br \/>\n1\/2 cup chopped green onions or chopped fresh cilantro<\/p>\n<p>Spray a large saucepan or Dutch oven with a few sprays of cooking oil spray. Add onion and saut\u00e9 over medium-high heat until soft and just starting to brown. Add ground turkey or sausage; cook over medium high heat, breaking up meat with a spoon, until cooked through; about 6 minutes. Add chili powder, oregano, cumin, mustard, garlic, beans, tomatoes, and broth. Bring to a boil over high heat and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
