Milk<\/p>\n<p>Sift dry ingredients together. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition. Pour into 2 greased 9\u00e2\u20ac\u009d pans and bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
