Lean Ground beef (Ground turkey or chicken)<br \/>\n1 medium onion, chopped or medium diced<br \/>\n1 large potato, chopped or medium diced<br \/>\n1 T. turmeric<br \/>\n1 T. dried oregano<br \/>\n1 tsp. cumin<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. white pepper<br \/>\n2 whole bay leaves<br \/>\n1\/2 cup water<\/p>\n<p>Cook ground beef with turmeric, dried oregano, cumin and white pepper until mixture is crumbled and brown in a medium sized skillet. Add chopped onion and chopped potato to mixture. Add bay leaves and stir in 1\/2 cup water. Simmer 15 minutes to a half hour to let flavors blend. Remove Bay Leaves before serving. Good alone or served with rice.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: I made this with ground turkey and both DH and I liked it quite well. The Turmeric stained my white nylon spatula yellow though \ud83d\ude09 It is a meal that my hubby affectionately calls &#8220;Slop&#8221; though..
