These were her baked beans, trotted out most holidays.  The calories are slightly estimated high, because I don&#8217;t know exactly how much calories and fat come off the hambone, ham hock, or bacon. It depends on what you use and since you don&#8217;t EAT the meat, it just flavors, I wasn&#8217;t sure what to count.  I made my best guess.  To be authenic, this needs to be cooked and served in a deep ceramic type brown container. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>1 1\/2 C. dried Small White Beans (Navy Beans)<br \/>\nSmall Onion, diced<br \/>\n1 Heaping tsp. Mustard<br \/>\n1\/2 C. Catsup<br \/>\n2-3 T. Molasses<br \/>\n2-3 T. Brown Sugar<br \/>\nHam Bone, Ham Hock or Side of Bacon (not Sliced)<\/p>\n<p>Soak beans overnight.  Pour off water discarding any husks.  The skins should peel when you blow on them.  Put beans in deep (not flat) baking dish.  Add water to 1 \u201c over beans.  Add all ingredients except ham bone.  Cook 1 hour. Add 1 tsp. salt (or to taste).  Add ham bone and bake slowly all day at 250-325.
