Brown Sugar (packed)<br \/>\n2 T. Flour<br \/>\n1\/2 C. Water<br \/>\n1\/4 C. Vinegar<br \/>\n1 tsp. Salt<br \/>\n1\/8 tsp. Pepper<br \/>\n1 Onion, sliced<\/p>\n<p>Heat 1\/2&#8243; salted water and 2 T. Vinegar or lemon juice to boiling. Add cabbage, cover and return to boiling. Cook 10 minutes; drain. Fry bacon until crisp; remove from pan and drain. Pour off all but 1 tablespoon of the bacon grease. Stir brown sugar and flour into bacon drippings in skillet. Add water, vinegar, salt, pepper and onion. Cook, stirring often, about 5 minutes or until it thickens. Add bacon and onion sauce to the hot cabbage.
