Heat butter and olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat.\u00a0 Add onions and salt to the pan and saut\u00e9\u00a9 5 min, stirring frequently.\u00a0 Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until the onions are a deep golden brown.\u00a0 Cool slightly.
