{"id":11882,"date":"2000-01-10T19:52:43","date_gmt":"2000-01-11T02:52:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=11882"},"modified":"2013-11-27T19:53:24","modified_gmt":"2013-11-28T02:53:24","slug":"gillian-mck-aduki-bean-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=11882","title":{"rendered":"Gillian McK Aduki Bean Stew"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>200g aduki beans<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>1 wheat free vegetable stock cube<\/p>\n<p>1 onion, peeled and finely chopped<\/p>\n<p>2 carrots, trimmed, peeled and thickly sliced<\/p>\n<p>1 leek, washed, trimmed and finely sliced<\/p>\n<p>Half a butternut squash, peeled, deseeded and cut into chunky pieces<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00bd tsp of cumin<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00bd tsp of turmeric<\/p>\n<p>250g curly kale<\/p>\n<p>4tbsp of fresh chervil, chopped<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Presoak the beans for 12 hours or overnight in water. Drain the beans and rinse well. Place in a saucepan of water and bring to the boil. Boil hard for 15 minutes to remove toxins. Drain and rinse well.\u00c2\u00a0 Return the beans to the pan with a litre of fresh cold water. Add the stock cube and bring to the boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the vegetables, cumin and turmeric and simmer for a further 10-15 minutes. Add the kale and cook for a few minutes until just tender.
