Cream butter and brown sugar. Add egg, molasses and grated ginger. Stir in flour mixture. Halve dough. Secure in plastic wrap. Chill 1 hour. Roll each on lightly floured surface to \u00c2\u00bc-inch thickness. Cut into shapes. Bake at 325 for 12 minutes until cookies are firm. Cool.
