{"id":1030,"date":"2003-05-15T13:15:38","date_gmt":"2003-05-15T20:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=1030"},"modified":"2010-06-17T17:40:18","modified_gmt":"2010-06-18T00:40:18","slug":"secret-twist-chili","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/recipes\/?p=1030","title":{"rendered":"Secret Twist Chili"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1 can red kidney beans, drained<br \/>\n1 can garbanzo beans, drained<br \/>\n1\/2 pound ground sausage<br \/>\n1\/2 pound ground beef<br \/>\n1 T. chopped onion<br \/>\n1 tsp. chopped garlic<br \/>\n1 can beef broth<br \/>\n3 cans chopped tomatoes<br \/>\n1 tsp. olive oil<br \/>\n1 T. unsweetened cocoa powder<br \/>\n2 tsp. cumin<br \/>\n1 tsp. freshly ground pepper<br \/>\n1 tsp. dried oregano<br \/>\n1 tsp. dried basil<br \/>\n1 tsp. chili powder<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. cayenne pepper<\/p>\n<p>In a large pot, saut\u00ef\u00bf\u00bd onion and garlic in olive oil over medium-high heat until onion is transparent. Add ground sausage and beef. Add all spices (cumin, pepper, oregano, basil, chili powder, cayenne pepper); mix well. Saut\u00ef\u00bf\u00bd for about three minutes (meat will not be cooked through).<br \/>\nAdd tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, and cocoa powder. Mix well. Lower heat to medium-low and simmer chili for about an hour. Meat should be cooked through and chili should be hot.
