National <\/span>Aviation<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> Day is in honor of the birthday of aviator Orville Wright. This special day was created by a presidential proclamation by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1939. This day was selected, as it is Orville Wright\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s birthday. (August 19, 1871)<\/span><\/p>\n \u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Wright brothers, <\/span>Orville and Wilbur<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a>, were pioneer aviators in the United States.\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>Orville was the first person to successfully fly an airplane. His first flight was December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
