The headless aftermath, <\/span><\/p>\n

Smooth-laid like thatch with the heavy dew, <\/span><\/p>\n

Half closes the garden path. <\/span><\/p>\n

And when I come to the garden ground, <\/span><\/p>\n

The whir of sober birds <\/span><\/p>\n

Up from the tangle of withered weeds <\/span><\/p>\n

Is sadder than any words. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A tree beside the wall stands bare, <\/span><\/p>\n

But a leaf that lingered brown, <\/span><\/p>\n

Disturbed, I doubt not, by my thought, <\/span><\/p>\n

Comes softly rattling down. <\/span><\/p>\n
