{"id":168,"date":"2016-10-06T11:49:07","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T18:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/?p=168"},"modified":"2016-10-12T00:43:48","modified_gmt":"2016-10-12T07:43:48","slug":"real-preppers-click-away-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/?p=168","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Real&#8221; Preppers &#8212; Click Away Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I have some things to say, which &#8220;real&#8221; preppers won&#8217;t appreciate.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll just say that this is what I believe.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;m an intelligent, well-read and moderately educated mid 40&#8217;s woman.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I&#8217;ve done my own research, seeking out\u00c2\u00a0non-profit, non-partisan, and scientific sources.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course pretty much everything and anything on the internet is suspect (like every\u00c2\u00a0second prepper site quoting\u00c2\u00a0Franklin as saying &#8220;if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail&#8221; &#8211; He didn&#8217;t.\u00c2\u00a0 That isn&#8217;t even language\u00c2\u00a0aligned with\u00c2\u00a0the time period.\u00c2\u00a0 see franklinpapers.org) because people spew &#8220;facts&#8221; they read somewhere else, and the next thing you know, its everywhere.\u00c2\u00a0 Like a red pen in a load of whites.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t expect to convince anyone who believes differently from me to change their minds, but maybe they will be a little more open to new ideas and actually try to find answers &#8212; and not from other conspiracy theory slinging, doomsday ringing folks who already think as they do.\u00c2\u00a0 A girl can dream.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-169\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/cons.jpg\" alt=\"cons\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/cons.jpg 640w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/cons-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/journal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/cons-619x348.jpg 619w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fukuskima &#8211; Sure, the radiation is still traveling the ocean and washing up on our shores.\u00c2\u00a0 That is true.\u00c2\u00a0 But the\u00c2\u00a0level recorded is <strong>so small<\/strong> (11 bequerels) that a single dental x-ray exposes you to 1000 times more radiation than swimming in the &#8220;contaminated&#8221; water for a year.<\/p>\n<p>Fluoride in your water is safe.\u00c2\u00a0 Even desirable.\u00c2\u00a0 It doesn&#8217;t have the effect of Prozac.\u00c2\u00a0 Really.\u00c2\u00a0 Prozac does not contain fluoride.\u00c2\u00a0 It contains Fluoxetine, which is formed of multiple (5 I believe) different elements, including fluoride.\u00c2\u00a0 Chemical bonds being what they are and the way compounds are formed &#8212; well, can you breath underwater since it contains O (oxygen)?\u00c2\u00a0 You aren&#8217;t being drugged into submission via fluoride in your water.\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s just crazy.<\/p>\n<p>RFID chips do not cause cancer.\u00c2\u00a0 Neither do cell phone towers.\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe if you spent a lot of time CLOSE to it and PARALLEL to it, your risk of cancer might be greater.\u00c2\u00a0 But even directly under it, you are exposed to more radiation from your cell phone in your pocket than the cell tower above you which does not scatter down.<\/p>\n<p>Vaccinations are safe.\u00c2\u00a0 They do not cause autism or make you sick.\u00c2\u00a0 If you don&#8217;t vaccinate, you are endangering the lives of others.\u00c2\u00a0 Please don&#8217;t come around me or my family.\u00c2\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n<p>GMOs.\u00c2\u00a0 sigh.\u00c2\u00a0 So many educated people I know even rail against them.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ve been practicing &#8220;genetic modification&#8221; of our food for as long as gardeners have been trying to cross-breed and keep meticulous records to breed hardiness in food,\u00c2\u00a0to make it more resistant to bugs, etc.\u00c2\u00a0 Farmers have been doing it,\u00c2\u00a0trying to remove aggression in certain breeds, or improve the texture of their wools, and so on.\u00c2\u00a0 Just because it took many generations to get it done doesn&#8217;t change what was happening at the cellular and genetic level.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 OK, so now scientists can go in and gene-splice and get those results in an instant.\u00c2\u00a0 So what?\u00c2\u00a0 Doesn&#8217;t make them DANGEROUS.\u00c2\u00a0 Other issues with Monsanto and their ilk?\u00c2\u00a0 Squeezing out the small farmer?\u00c2\u00a0 Making seeds infertile so you have to buy a new bunch every time?\u00c2\u00a0 Cramming too much processed, unhealthy crap on the shelves? Possibly.\u00c2\u00a0 But there&#8217;s really <strong>no<\/strong> evidence that eating the actual crop of their GMOs causes any harm.<\/p>\n<p>Amero?\u00c2\u00a0 really?\u00c2\u00a0 I can&#8217;t even.<\/p>\n<p>There might be a polar shift.\u00c2\u00a0 The geologic record shows that hundreds of pole reversals have occurred throughout Earth&#8217;s history; they happen when patches of iron atoms in\u00c2\u00a0Earth&#8217;s liquid outer core\u00c2\u00a0become reverse-aligned, and eventually they overwhelm the original iron atoms.\u00c2\u00a0<strong>But<\/strong> the landscape won&#8217;t shift.\u00c2\u00a0 There will not be disaster as continents leap to the opposite side of the globe.\u00c2\u00a0 Our compasses would point in a different direction.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0And can you feel the geomagnetic field now?\u00c2\u00a0 No?\u00c2\u00a0 That&#8217;s right, so why would you feel it if it were the other direction?\u00c2\u00a0 During a transition, its possible that the magnetic field that protects us from excessive solar radiation could weaken.\u00c2\u00a0 IF there were a massive solar event (CME) at that\u00c2\u00a0 time, and it was aimed right at us, MAYBE we could see some EMP like effects.\u00c2\u00a0 Given the length of time that would likely take, it&#8217;s not impossible.
