{"id":828,"date":"2009-10-27T18:08:55","date_gmt":"2009-10-28T01:08:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/?p=828"},"modified":"2009-10-27T21:55:40","modified_gmt":"2009-10-28T04:55:40","slug":"fnccc-cat-cora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/?p=828","title":{"rendered":"FNCCC &#8211; Cat Cora"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Getting a recipe to use this week has been a challenge!\u00c2\u00a0 For me, when I try to browse the &#8220;top 100&#8221; recipes for\u00c2\u00a0ANY chef, (except for the 8 or 9 they specifically have listed as links), no recipes come up.\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c2\u00a0I had to spend a bit of time doing &#8220;Cat Cora&#8221; +Ingedient searches.\u00c2\u00a0 Just using her name brought up a ton of stuff.\u00c2\u00a0 AFTER the fact I discoverd that I can use a chef&#8217;s name in quotations, and make sure to switch the search box focus from &#8220;entire site&#8221; to &#8220;recipes&#8221; and it lists fine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/iblamemom.blogspot.com\/search\/label\/FN%20chefs%20cooking%20challenge\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"fnccc\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/fnccc.jpg\" alt=\"fnccc\" width=\"156\" height=\"105\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">This weeks Food Netowrk Chefs Cooking Challenge\u00c2\u00a0features <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/chefs\/cat-cora\/index.html\">Cat Cora<\/a>.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I have never seen her on a food network show aside from Iron Chef America, although I have seen her other places.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>The first time, in fact, was on Sesame Street, although she wasn&#8217;t presenting a recipe \ud83d\ude09<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I know her style is Greek \/ Mediterranean, which I enjoy.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>How can you go wrong with foods like good olives, phyllo, feta cheese, garlic and oregano? I love avgolemono soup when I am sick (chicken broth, rice, slightly thickened with lemon and egg) so when I saw the recipe for shrimp avgolemeno, I knew that was the one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">Changes:<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I did not have fish stock, and that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not something you can buy (at least not around here), so I decided to use clam juice.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I also discovered right before cooking that I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have any skewers.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I ALWAYS have skewers, I mean seriously, have you seen my bento pick collection? LOL<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>The four inch bamboo ones weren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t going to cut it though, so I ended up skipping the grilling step.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>The recipe says just to mark them and then you transfer them to the oven to cook anyway, so I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a huge deal.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span>I just cooked them a little bit longer in the oven.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">Marinate the shrimp in the olive oil, oregano, and garlic 30 minutes. <em>(It doesn&#8217;t say whether to leave the tail on or not.\u00c2\u00a0 I went ahead and took it off just for simplicity for the familes eating)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; Preheat an oven to 450 degrees F. Slide 4 shrimp onto each skewer. Place on a hot grill and mark on both sides quickly, not cooking them through. Put them in a baking dish and pour the fish broth over the shrimp with the tomatoes and place in the oven for about 4 minutes. <em>(Because of my skewer snafu, I left in oven for 7 minutes.\u00c2\u00a0 Six would have been perfect for these shrimp, which were 16-20&#8217;s)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"text-align: center; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/catcorafnccc-005.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-833\" title=\"catcorafnccc 005\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/catcorafnccc-005.JPG\" alt=\"catcorafnccc 005\" width=\"294\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/catcorafnccc-005.JPG 1024w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/catcorafnccc-005-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 294px) 100vw, 294px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;\">Remove from the oven, take the shrimp out of the baking dish, and place on a platter. In a bowl whisk together the eggs and lemon juice.
