Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate. Drain off all but 1 tablespoon fat, add onion, jalapeno, potato, red pepper, corn, salt and pepper and saute for about 5 minutes. Add thyme. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>In a blender, puree half the mixture and add back to the pan. Add milk, chicken broth, and chicken and let simmer for about 5 minutes. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>Transfer to serving bowls. Garnish each bowl with cooked bacon, fresh cilantro and a lime wedge.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: black; mso-no-proof: yes;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Total for soup: 4.38 for 6 servings.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><span style=\"color: black; mso-no-proof: yes;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">This really wasn&#8217;t much of a &#8220;chowder&#8221;.\u00c2\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t thick and creamy at all, but much more soupy.\u00c2\u00a0 You could probably thicken with cornstarch or add another potato in the beginning for more starchiness in the puree.\u00c2\u00a0 I like soupy &#8220;chowders&#8221; so I was fine with that.
