{"id":2512,"date":"2012-02-12T12:05:55","date_gmt":"2012-02-12T19:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/?p=2512"},"modified":"2012-02-12T12:33:28","modified_gmt":"2012-02-12T19:33:28","slug":"recent-kid-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/?p=2512","title":{"rendered":"Recent kid stuff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Lil L is 32 months.\u00c2\u00a0 Kidlet just turned 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A Few of Lil L&#8217;s recent activities.\u00c2\u00a0 You can see her poor scraggly hair a bit in some of these.\u00c2\u00a0 My daughter inherited *my* hair, which means its very thin, very fine, and tangles if you breathe on it.\u00c2\u00a0 This is no exaggeration.\u00c2\u00a0 No amount of leave in conditioner, de-tangling spray, etc does any good.\u00c2\u00a0 We get giant clumps of rats nest hair, and combing it is a NIGHTMARE.\u00c2\u00a0 She tends to have greasy looking hair around the house, because I saturate it in conditioner and let it just sit on the head in the hopes that just maybe THIS time it will make a difference.\u00c2\u00a0 (it doesn&#8217;t =0)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-0011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2516\" title=\"through feb2012 001\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-0011-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-0011-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-0011-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Playdough mats (L for her name, although she can spell it now)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-013.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2514\" title=\"through feb2012 013\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-013-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-013-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-013-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I bought this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Alex-Little-Hands-Button-Art\/dp\/B003AP4JPE\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1329073913&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\">button art<\/a> on a super sale for Christmas 2010, but had it put up until she could actually use it.\u00c2\u00a0 We pulled it out a few months ago, and she loves snapping the buttons in place.\u00c2\u00a0 She often wants to use it without one of the included patterns, but this time was using them.\u00c2\u00a0 She decided that she wanted her boat to have eyes, color coding on the picture mat notwithstanding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-029.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2520\" title=\"through feb2012 029\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-029-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-029-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-029-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Making sculptures from Crayola Model Magic, buttons, tiny letter dice (from inside mini boggle games from Oriental Trading that were 50% off since they were &#8220;less than perfect&#8221; throwing the rice about is so much fun.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-030.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2521\" title=\"through feb2012 030\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-030-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-030-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/through-feb2012-030-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We used gel food coloring (since that is what\u00c2\u00a0I had on hand) and a bit of rubbing alcohol.\u00c2\u00a0 I don&#8217;t know what purpose that serves exactly, but we were happy with the vibrant colors that came out of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Kidlet has been working on idioms.\u00c2\u00a0 That is a tough one when you have asperger&#8217;s.\u00c2\u00a0 I had seen a display of idiom worksheets on<a href=\"http:\/\/pinterest.com\/\">pinterest <\/a>(can&#8217;t find that link now to credit them).\u00c2\u00a0 But they didn&#8217;t\u00c2\u00a0share the sheet they used, just the image of finished results, so I created one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/viewer?a=v&amp;pid=explorer&amp;chrome=true&amp;srcid=0B2WB4Fxuk-zwMzZjYzNkYjUtNjliMS00MzI0LWI2N2EtNzdhZTE5YjY2ZjQ0\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2523\" title=\"idiom\" src=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/idiom-300x229.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/idiom-300x229.png 300w, https:\/\/pcgirl.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/idiom.png 797w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We have done a few of them (ants in your pants, let the cat out of the bag), which I meant to show here, but didn&#8217;t get them scanned.\u00c2\u00a0 I put the idiom in at the top, and then have him draw what he thinks it would look like if it meant exactly what it said.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we talk about what it really means, and add the definition and use.\u00c2\u00a0 Then I have him write a sentence using the idiom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lil L is 32 months.\u00c2\u00a0 Kidlet just turned 8.
